W Retreat Koh Samui Opening This Summer

"Whatever, Whenever" is coming to Koh Samui, the island off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus in Thailand. W Hotels' first W Retreat in Southeast Asia, W Retreat Koh Samui, will open this summer.
Seventy-five private villas dot the retreat, with a range of possibilities from hillside villas to beach villas. All accommodations include private plunge pools, daybeds, outdoor showers, 47-inch plasma screen TVs and, of course, the signature W bed. W Koh Samui will also offer W's signature Whatever/Whenever concierge service (think breakfast on a deserted beach, or dinner, it's "whatever" you want!).
W Koh Samui's Living Room (W's take on the lobby area) is an indoor/outdoor lounge perched on the hillside. We hear round banquette seating areas are submerged in an infinity-edge reflecting pool. Top Table: There are three—The Kitchen Table, the Retreat's signature restaurant; Namu, a modern Japanese restaurant; and Sip Lounge.
aWay Spa will incorporate local Thai influences in a contemporary fashion. In addition, aWay Spa will offer the first "Thaimazcal" treatment facility in Asia, which is based on Mexican tribal rituals mixed with local Thai ingredients.
Next to W Koh Samui will be The Residences at W Retreat Koh Samui, featuring 17 beachfront villas ranging from three to five bedrooms.
