W Retreat Koh Samui Opens November 1, 2010

Let the countdown begin. The opening of the latest W Retreat Koh Samui is just weeks away. And by the looks of the number of fans on Facebook, folks are itching to get wickedly wild at this hot new property overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. The new W will surely up the luxury quotient on the tropic island. As we reported back in April, the seven-room spa will be a big highlight: “aWay Spa will incorporate local Thai influences in a contemporary fashion. In addition, aWay Spa will offer the first "Thaimazcal" treatment facility in Asia, which is based on Mexican tribal rituals mixed with local Thai ingredients.”

Surrounded by lush foliage, the 75 Villas look positively sumptuous, stacked with sensory delights (private pools, daybeds, outdoor showers) and equipped with cutting-edge technology. Not like you’d need the in-room entertainment. You could find yourself lounging in W’s indoor-outdoor Living Room perched on the hillside, or at the pool bar. Dining sounds pretty swank, too. You’ll find your pick of fun restos: The Kitchen Table, the Retreat's signature restaurant; Namu, a modern Japanese restaurant; and Sip Lounge. This could be the ultimate hedonist’s playground.
