A&K Launches New Europe Tours Due to 24 Percent Increase in Sales

With an uptick in summer travel sales through Europe, travel operator Abercrombie & Kent are introducing new travel packages.

A&K has found that its Europe group journeys have increased by 24 percent since last year, with the Europe Tailor Made product up 18 percent. Destinations that have stood out during this summer’s travel season have included Iceland, Russia, Spain and Portugal, Scandinavia, Croatia and Switzerland.

Because of this increase in summer travel sales, A&K has launched new Europe journeys this year, with more in the works for 2018 – specifically for the brand’s recently launched Connections Boutique Journeys product.

A&K’s Tailor Made tour is another option for travelers, allowing them to craft customized itineraries focusing on their personal interests, whether that be art, architecture, food, or something else.

For 2017, the brand is introducing three new tours. The Iceland: Geysers & Glaciers tour is 11 days long and allows travelers to experience the north, south and west of Iceland. They will also try Icelandic fishing and let a chef prepare their catch for dinner. They can also drive on Europe’s largest glacier before descending into man-made ice tunnels, explore an extinct volcano and cruise the northern coast to spot various whale species.

With the France: Paris, Burgundy & Loire Châteaux tour, travelers will visit the nation’s most iconic cities, villages and countryside while staying at boutique hotels. They will travel to Monet’s Giverny, the inspiration for many of the artist’s most famous paintings, visit Burgundy and experience a wine tasting at one of the world’s greatest wineries, explore the châteaux and gardens of the Loire Valley alongside a resident tour director and shop at the market in the city of Tours alongside a chef, who will then help guests cook a meal together. This is a 10-day itinerary.

The Baltics & Helsinki tour lasts 11 days and brings travelers to four different countries. The itinerary will take them to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Old Towns of Vilnius and Riga, and take them on a tour of Latvia’s architectural gem of Rundale Palace. They will also go to Riga’s National Opera House during an exclusive backstage visit and enjoy Finnish traditions with a Nordic walking and sauna visit.
