New Multibillion Dollar Hotel Project for the Turks and Caicos?

Rumor has it that new Setai and Dream hotels are being planned for the Caribbean. As reported by The New York Post’s Page Six, a trio of well-known “hotel moguls” met in the Turks and Caicos just before the holidays to plan a multibillion-dollar new hotel project.

Witnessed meeting up at Amanyara, the swanky resort that’s a favorite celebrity hang-out on the island of Providenciales, was the triumvirate of hoteliers: Omar Amanat (part-owner of Aman Hotels); Vikram Chatwal (owner of Dream Hotel and part-owner of the Plaza); and Baran Suzer (rumored to be behind the Setai South Beach).

According to reports, they “walked a 5-acre waterfront parcel of land next to the Amanyara, owned by Amanat, on which the plan is to build two new luxury hotels” in early 2015. The Setai and Dream hotels are allegedly slated to open a year after construction.
