Eurostar Fetes 20th Birthday with World’s Largest Champagne Tasting

Eurostar Champagne Tasting

Did you know that Eurostar is celebrating its 20th birthday this year? Over the last two decades, the high-speed train that links London with Paris and Brussels has won fans for its quick, convenient service between the city centers of major European capitals. (The train has carried 145 million passengers since its launch in 1994.)

To fete the big day, Michelin-starred chef Raymond Blanc—Eurostar’s Culinary Director for the last two years—kicked off the celebrations with a Champagne tasting that set the Guinness World Record title. Earlier this month, passengers on the 10:25 train from London were welcomed onboard with a special announcement: Chef Raymond Bland and Arnaud Goubet, his sommelier at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, would be hosting the world’s largest Champagne tasting event. Passengers in all classes (515 people in total) were treated to three types of Champagne paired with a slice of Opera cake.

Eurostar's 20th anniversary celebrations will continue with special events and promotions. See the official website for details: www.eurostar.com
