New Online Service Helps Golfers Find Caddies in Wales

As Wales prepares to host the 2010 Ryder Cup, a new online service  has premiered to help golfers find and book a professional caddy for any of Wales’s 200 courses.

Wales is the first European country to offer an internet-based program to locate qualified, professional caddies. Home course advantage: Many caddies are actually members of the local golf club who participate in the program and enjoy sharing Welsh golf lore and their insider knowledge of the course with visiting North Americans. The caddies are expert when it comes to understanding golf etiquette, as well as having technical and general knowledge of the course and the surrounding area.

In addition, Wales’ National Caddy Scheme has been designed to create a gold standard for registered caddies and aims to equip caddies with the knowledge and skills to offer a premium service.

Wales is the host nation for golf's Ryder Cup in 2010, the world's third-largest sporting event. Ryder Cup 2010 will be played at the Celtic Manor Resort near Newport, South Wales from October 1–3, 2010.
