Britain's tourism industry is off to a great start this year as approximately 20 key British tourism businesses as well as senior Ministers, Sandie Dawe, VisitBritain CEO, and Christopher Rodrigues, VisitBritain Chairman, met in London to launch plans for the new tourism marketing campaign.
The group, which met at No10 Downing Street, addressed the government's challenge to the tourism industry to create a marketing fund of approximately $155 million to boost tourism. Good news - the group is on target! The campaign will run over four years and is expected to bring in one million extra international visitors per year, creating 50,000 new jobs in the UK.
VisitBritain has currently teamed up with British Airways, Radisson Edwardian, P&O, DFDS and LastMinute.com on this campaign.
