Faro Blanco Resort and Yacht Club Set to Reopen

Marathon’s Faro Blanco Resort and Yacht club is set to reopen its doors this September. The resort, which was destroyed by Hurricane Wilma in 2005 will be set on the same land as the former resort.

The new development will feature a 125-room Hyatt Palace Hotel, which will offer a complimentary breakfast buffet, two pools, a fitness center, meeting space and free high speed Wi-Fi, as well as a waterfront restaurant with a terrace and outdoor bar called the Lighthouse Grill.

For boaters, the resort is being designed with a 74-slip, state-of-the-art marina capable of handling vessels up to 100 feet in length. There will be 24-hour security, a marine store, marine concierge services, Wi-Fi and lockers with showers.

Another Marathon landmark, the 102 year-old 'Old Seven Mile Bridge' is also due to undergo a renovation and on February 15, 2015, the Florida Keys Marathon Airport will become an international port of entry for passengers.
