Say Aloha to the New Edition Hotel on Waikiki Beach

Yoga classes, surf camp, bikini boot camp… There’s not much you can’t do at the new Edition Hotel, commanding a prime beachfront position in Waikiki. The brainchild of Ian Schrager, the father of the boutique hotel concept, the new brand is all about "individualized, customized, one-of-a-kind hotels that are the antithesis of an institutional 'hotel chain.'" One of the most talked-about openings of the year, the Waikiki Edition is the first property for the brand, with other hotels to follow across the globe: Istanbul, Mexico City, Barcelona and Bangkok.

Perhaps most exciting is grub by Iron Chef champ Masaharu Morimoto. Chow down on inventive cuisine that’s a mélange of Japanese and Western flavors, showcasing the finest seafood from the Hawaiian waters, while quaffing some of Chef Morimoto’s own beers and sake. The uber-cool bar scene includes Crazybox nightclub, the pool bar, and the seductive hang-out on Private Sunset Beach. When it’s time to call it a night, you’ll be cocooned in organic luxury in your guest room. The 353 rooms have oversized windows, custom beds, 46” LCD TVs, and Terrazzo counter tops and sinks. Did we mention the free wifi?
