Dreaming of a white Christmas? Get thee to Park City, where you can cut through freshly fallen powder at Deer Valley Resort then retire to luxury at Stein Eriksen Lodge, Utah's only Forbes Five Star, AAA Five Diamond property. (After you hit the slopes, you’ll find warmed up boots and a hot drink awaiting your return.) One of America’s most celebrated ski-in, ski-out resorts and a favorite of the A-list crowd, the Stein Eriksen Lodge is also known for its festive holiday offerings: an elaborate gingerbread display, a beautifully decorated tree, and gourmet feasts.

This year’s gingerbread display (pictured at right) takes its inspiration from the world of Harry Potter, depicting Hogwarts. Executive Pastry Chef Ann Giles Sweisford and her team spent over 150 hours designing the magical scene with 400 pounds of gingerbread and 80 pounds of icing. Are the kids inspired to make their own gingerbread creations? Chef Sweisford will be leading gingerbread classes for the young’uns on Monday December 20 and Tuesday, December 28.

Buzz: The Lodge is currently offering an off-peak “Bronze Stay & Ski Package” that’s a significant value. Priced from $279 per person, per night and available December 4 - 17, 2010, January 2 - 14, 2011 and March 27 - April 10, 2011, the package includes one night's accommodatios in a deluxe room, buffet breakfast, and one adult lift ticket (maximum two tickets per room per night) to Deer Valley Resort. Two-night minimum stay required. Children under 12 who share accommodations stay for free of charge and lift tickets can be purchased through Deer Valley Ski Resort at a reduced rate.
