‘80 Days of Holidays’ Calendar Launched

To showcase Greater Downtown Fort Lauderdale as an entertainment hotspot during the holidays, Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale and Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment (A&E) District have collaborated to launch the “80 Days of Holidays Downtown” calendar. Including the two organizations' combined resources, the master calendar features events occurring in and around Greater Downtown Fort Lauderdale during the upcoming holiday season from November 1 through January 22, 2013.

The 80 Days of Holidays Downtown calendar is a cross-collaborative effort between nine local non-profit organizations: Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale, Museum of Discovery and Science, Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale, Fort Lauderdale Historical Society, Historic Stranahan House Museum, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Las Olas Association, Downtown Development Authority, Riverwalk A&E District and Sun Trolley. The calendar highlights the offerings of each organization and includes a range of events and activities, including art exhibits, comedic performances, fundraising events, holiday lighting ceremonies, and film openings.

The Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District is a partnership of arts and entertainment organizations located along the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale with the mission of promoting cultural tourism in South Florida. Presenting over 1,000 individual events each year, the district attracts well over one million visitors annually.

Partners of the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment Consortium include Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale, Florida Grand Opera, Fort Lauderdale Historical Society, the Historic Stranahan House Museum and Bonnet House Museum & Gardens. It is supported by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.
