A&K Expands Marco Polo Journeys in 2016

Abercrombie & Kent is offering four new limited-edition Marco Polo Journeys itineraries for 2016.

Organized around Festivals & Events, River & Rail, Incredible Cultures or Wilderness Adventures, the journeys are limited to groups of no more than 18 guests. 

Festivals & Events

(New) Easter Island & the Tapati Festival – Guests will witness contests of strength and skill that celebrate the Rapa Nui culture, as well as visit the island’s mysterious moai statues. A hike to the crater of the Rano Raraku volcano and dining in a local Rapa Nui home are also on the agenda. Eight days from $7,795

River & Rail

(New) Scotland & Ireland by Luxury Train – This trip will spend four nights on the brand new Belmond Grand Hibernian luxury train. Travelers will also stay on the Old Course at St. Andrews, tour a famed Scottish whisky distillery and sample the spirits, visit Loch Leven Castle and Falkland Palace, following in the footsteps of Mary, Queen of Scots, and privately tour the ruins of Blarney Castle. (New) Sri Lanka: The Complete Island – On this itinerary, guests will explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Dambulla Cave Temple, Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka's first royal capital, embark on game drives in Yala National Park, home to one of the world's largest leopard concentrations, sample Ceylon tea with a prominent local family in Kandy and take a scenic train ride to Sri Lanka's Tea Country, and venture to less-visited Trincomalee to experience Tamil culture and see stunning natural harbors. During the tour travelers will stay in boutique hotels, including two nights at Amangalla.
