Abercrombie & Kent Announces New Family Tours for 2015

Tour operator Abercrombie & Kent will launch nine new Luxury Small Group Journeys for 2015 in Myanmar, Southern Africa, Tanzania, Australia and New Zealand; including new dedicated Family Journeys to India, China and Costa Rica

Family Tours

A&K's new family tours have decreased the price for children on the trip.  For 2015, guests can choose from eight Family Journeys to new destinations—including India, and favorites like Alaska, Costa Rica, East Africa, China and the Galapagos—while seeing savings of $800 per child under 12 on all international Family Journeys.

Following the launch of guaranteed group extensions two years ago, A&K is expanding the choices for 2015. Specially selected and priced to complement each small group journey, these extensions—all of which are guaranteed to operate–let guests personalize their adventure.

Each A&K Luxury Small Group Journey includes some top-ranked rooms at top hotels at every stop along the way (some of these include a royal residence turned hotel and a boutique wilderness camp). Limiting the group to 18 guests lets the team book accommodations not available to larger groups. Good to know: Private airport transfers on arrival and departure, Travelling Bell Boy service to transfer luggage from hotel to hotel and complimentary Internet access are all included. And every departure is guaranteed to operate with a minimum of two guests.

New Programs for 2015

Arrive at Shwedagon Pagoda just as the sun sets to participate in a candle-lighting ceremony. Visit the last Jewish synagogue in Myanmar. 10 days from $5,295

Southern Africa Safari by River & Rail – Explore Botswana, Zambia and South Africa from different vantage points: on a game drive, on foot, by helicopter; aboard a five-star houseboat, the ‘Zambezi Queen,’ and on the Rovos Rail vintage train. 13 days from $11,995

Stay in mobile tented camps positioned for optimal game viewing on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater and in the heart of the Serengeti. Visit with an elder in a Maasai village, learning about the tribe’s traditional lifestyle and how they coexist with wildlife.  Nine days from $6,995

China: Land of Legends – Explore the birthplace of kung fu and watch a private demonstration by resident monks. Get a close-up view of giant pandas at the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center. Walk atop the less-visited and best preserved Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Relax on a bamboo raft trip along the Li River. 13 days from $6,895

Bonus: Guests can also make their journeys private and still get the same perks as the small groups.
