Adventures by Disney is introducing its new adults-only food- and wine-themed cruise itineraries in partnership with AmaWaterways.

The new Rhine River sailing, designed to provide guests with a look into the unique culinary history of four different countries, is the latest addition to the Adventures by Disney River Cruise portfolio.

The river cruises for 2017 are part of a extended second season of cruises along Europe’s Danube River in addition to the introduction of the new Rhine River sailings. The new itinerary is one of 15 river-cruise sailings offered during 2017. Though most cruises in the Adventures by Disney portfolio are designed for families, Rhine River Food & Wine Sailing is open exclusively for adults.

The exclusive, adults-only cruise will take place onboard the AmaKristina, a new river cruise ship being custom built by AmaWaterways, departing from Basel, Switzerland on October 21, 2017. AmaWaterways and Adventures by Disney have paired together to provide travelers the opportunity to customize their trip to fit their needs by offering a variety of activity options offered onboard daily and in each port.

Excursions on the food and wine sailing include the opportunity to learn about wine tasting and blending during various vineyard tours and onboard seminars, hosted by Master Sommelier Brian Koziol; a tour of the Heineken Factory, where guests will savor a caramel waffle demonstration and learn how to blend craft cocktails during a private workshop in Amsterdam; a hands-on French patisserie class in Strasbourg; an interactive class on the Strasbourg tart flambe, complete with local beer and artisan wine pairings; gourmet demonstrations and workshops by John State, culinary director of the Disneyland Resort discussion authentic dishes of Europe; and a guided tour through Riqueqihr, France, incorporating local gastronomic delights like sausages and French macarons, among other activities.

Reservations for the Rhine Food & Wine River Cruise are being accepted now. Call 800-543-0865 for more information.
