Hyatt has announced that its Andaz brand has collaborated with Claridge Homes and to enter into a management contract. The Andaz Ottawa Byward Market hotel will open in mid-2016, and it will be the first Andaz hotel in Canada. It will also be Ottawa’s first hotel under the Hyatt brand.
The hotel will be located in the Byward Market neighborhood, and will be just a short walk from Parliament Hill. The area is the center of the city’s nightlife and dinning area. The hotel will have a mixture of suites, including an executive suite with a fireplace and almost 600-foot terrace. The hotel will attract guests with a rooftop bar and an outdoor seating area with panoramic views of Ottawa.
“Andaz Ottawa Byward Market will bring to life the brand’s mission of creating inspiring, indigenous experiences and immersing guests into the destination’s local culture. We believe Andaz Ottawa Byward Market will convey the vibrant, international spirit of Canada’s capital city,” said David Tarr, senior vice president of development in the Americas for Hyatt.
The hotel plans to work with local artists, musicians, designers and more to bring guests and locals alike events and programs important to the Ottawa area. The Andaz Salon, the brand’s cultural program, will host these cultural events on property.
Andaz Ottawa Byward Market will be located at 325 Dalhousie Street.
