Apple Designers to Create Claridge’s Christmas Tree

London’s iconic hotel, Claridge’s, has announced that the hotel’s annual Christmas tree will be designed by Apple Designers and Sir Jony Ive, the chief design officer and Marc Newson, designer for special projects. Ive is known for creating the look and feel of the Apple products, including the iMac, PowerBook, MacBook, iPhone, iPad and more. Newson has created a range of products from furniture to yachts and is based in London.

The tree will be on view in the Claridge’s lobby on November 18. In the past, the tree has caused a lot of buzz and has been created by Dolce & Gabbana, John Galliano and Burberry. This is the first year that the hotel has selected a brand outside the fashion industry.

Calridge’s is in London’s Mayfair neighborhood and is part of the Maybourne Hotel Group. Good to Know: Claridge’s touts fine afternoon tea and serves vintage champagnes and rare spirits at Claridge’s bar.
