Now that we’re all settled into the New Year, it’s time to shake things up a bit. Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and now is the time to start planning for February 14. We’ve pulled together some of what Luxury Travel Advisor thinks will be a hit for you and your partner this Valentine’s Day, whether you’re planning on popping the question or just want to show your love.

Kennebunkport’s Put a Ring on It

Spend your Valentine’s Day in the place that’s become known as New England’s most romantic town – Kennebunkport. The town is inviting couples to spend some time during February celebrating a variety of Paint the Town Red festivities all month long, so if you’re looking to do a little pre- or post-Valentine’s Day getaway, Kennebunkport has romantic celebrations continuing throughout February. If you’re looking for a package so you can propose, the Kennebunkport Resort Collection’s “Put a Ring on It” package has you covered. The package includes two nights of luxury accommodations at The Boathouse Waterfront Hotel, Kennebunkport Inn or the Grand Hotel, a custom engagement ring, an original love poem, a bottle of Dom Perignon served in Waterford Crystal champagne flutes, a photographer to capture the special moment, four dozen roses and chocolate covered strawberries to sweeten the deal. Rates for the package start at $11,000. Contact the Cupid Concierge at [email protected] or at 207-967-1517 to get started.

For the Love Of at W Las Vegas

From February 9-16, the W Las Vegas is inviting you to spend Valentine’s Day with your love in Sin City. Spend the night out on the town or settle down for a romantic night in with W Las Vegas’ For the Love Of package. For $489 a night, the package includes a bottle of bubbly upon arrival, a couples massage at the AWAY Spa, lovers’ tattoos from top tattoo artist Austin Spencer of Studio 21, luxury transportation to and from the airport, daily in-room breakfast for two and of course a late check out so you can spend all morning cuddling. And since the property just opened in December of 2016, you and your date will be among the first to celebrate the holiday at the new luxury lifestyle hotel. A variety of on-site dining concepts, the W Living Room and Wet Pool Deck provide guests with ample activity during the day, keeping you and your date as busy (or not busy) as you want to be during your romantic getaway.

Diving for Diamonds

For the ultimate experience in Valentine’s Day proposals, surprise your sweetie with some buried treasure. Beautiful Places, a villa-destination group, has created Diving for Diamonds for this Valentine’s Day season, all you have to do is supply the ring. How it works: at breakfast, the couple is presented with a fun treasure map that has back stories rumoring about a sunken yacht filled with buried treasure. The couple will spend the day on a private yacht exploring the Caribbean searching for clues while dining and sipping on food and drinks. A dive master will help you follow a trail of ‘artifacts’ to a half-buried treasure box which they’ll bring ashore for you and your date to explore. Then, the ring is discreetly placed into the treasure chest (don’t worry – it’s never actually placed underwater) so you can pop the question with total surprise and romance. The package is available to guests staying in any of Beautiful Place’s Caribbean villas.

Proposal in the Sky

If you’re planning a trip to Mexico this Valentine’s Day, the adults-only boutique resort Casa Velas Puerto Vallarta has a few romantic tricks up its sleeve that romantics are sure to enjoy. If you’re looking for an exciting place to spend Valentine’s Day, may we suggest taking to the skies. Casa Velas offers a Dinner in the Sky excursion that’s romantic any day of the week, making it well-suited for a Valentine’s Day activity. The experience elevates 22 guests 150 feet into the air for a three-course gourmet dinner, featuring views of Banderas Bay and the Sierra Madre Mountains. If you’re really looking for exclusivity, the table can be booked exclusively just your party as well. If you’re looking to pop the question, the Proposal in the Sky package is the way to go. The experience includes a ring presentation during dessert, a bottle of champagne, a bouquet of flowers and a photo to commemorate the experience. Bonus – drone video footage to capture your in-the-sky proposal is also available.

50 Shades of Romance

The National on South Beach is offering a 50 Shades of Romance package just in time for Valentine’s Day – and the release of 50 Shades Darker, the sequel to the hit book/film series 50 Shades of Grey.  For those who will spend their Valentine’s Day at The National, you’ll be in for an exciting romantic treat. Upon arrival, couples will sign a “contract” (a la Anastasia and Christian in the film) to certify understanding of the weekends events. Amenities include 50 roses displayed in your guestroom, 50 sips of champagne at the hotel’s Blues Bar, a poolside blind folded dinner for two, ending with the movies signature vanilla ice cream for dessert, a 50 minute couple’s massage, a complimentary accommodation upgrade to an ocean view and a guaranteed 4 p.m. late check out, to spend as much private time with your date as possible.
