Here’s something new for the French West Indies: This October, the Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France, a new Maison for the Cheval Blanc collection, will open its doors. This is the former Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France, which was acquired by LVMH in July 2013 and has since been managed by LVMH Hotel Management. We hear it has been under a range of renovations that will wrap up this summer before it re-opens for the new season in October. Further developments will continue throughout 2015.

This will be the third Maison in the portfolio, joining Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives, which opened in November 2013, and Cheval Blanc Courchevel, the 36-room ski-in ski-out Maison in Courchevel 1850.

The hotel is set to get a four-room Cheval Blanc Spa with signature treatments by Guerlain—the first of their kind in the Caribbean—created exclusively for the hotel (this will include St.-Barth Solar Escape, a ritual using the Terracotta range, to soothe the skin.) A new Orchidée double treatment room and other novelties will follow in the 2015-16 season. Bonus: the hotel’s new fitness center will offer personal training sessions.

A unique activity at the hotel will be Big Blue Escape. Escorted by a Majordome, Cheval Blanc’s dedicated butler, guests will sail aboard a 69-foot yacht to explore St. Barts’ bays. Onboard, guests will get their own beach bag, complete with two panama hats and matching fans, sun lotions and other perks.

After exploring, the ship will drop anchor in front of Saline Beach, where a fresh lobster lunch will be waiting. The rest of the afternoon will be spent resting and sunbathing before unwinding with an exclusive Guerlain spa ritual onboard. If that doesn’t help to aid relaxation, have one last cocktail and tapas while watching the sunset before going home.
