Belmond Hotel Cipriani Opens New Restaurant

Heads up, foodies! In Venice, the Belmond Hotel Cipriani has launched a new restaurant: Oro.

And beyond Belmond and Cipriani, the property has another big name attached: The project was designed by Adam D. Tihany, who has designed Thomas Keller’s Per Sé and Bouchon, Le Cirque 2000 and Sirio for the Maccioni family and Daniel Boulud’s Daniel in New York City. And we hear Michelin-starred chef Davide Bisetto will run the kitchen, which will serve new interpretations of classic Italian fare.

Signature dishes on his menu include Red Prawn and Spider Crab au Naturel, Pink Grapefruit Aspic, Citrus, Sant’Erasmus Cucumber Sorbet, with Bloody Mary Water. There's also Sea Bass Drenched in Marostica Extra Virgin Olive Oil with a Garden of Lagoon Vegetables.

Cool touch: The main dining room of Oro Restaurant has a domed gold leafed ceiling with a handmade Murano glass chandelier. The terrace has wrought iron chairs and stone tables and is positioned directly on the Rio San Giorgio.

Another new addition at Belmond Hotel Cipriani is a rustic Italian Enoteca, La Via Della Sete, with a wine collection that includes more than a thousand selected labels. Here, guests can unwind with an aperitif before dinner in a more casual setting. Overlooking the open kitchen, Enoteca is connected to the Oro dining room that seats up to 40 people.
