The Berkeley Releases Prêt-à-Portea Cook Book

In 2006, The Berkeley in London launched the original fashion tea, Prêt-à-Portea, which includes sweets and snacks inspired by the season’s fashion collections. The hotel is now releasing Prêt-à-Portea, High Fashion Cakes and Cookies, in time for Prêt-à-Portea’s 10th anniversary. With a release date of October 18th, the hardcover book will include over 20 recipes for couture cakes and cookies featuring styles from fashion designers including Burberry, Diane von Furtsenberg and Christian Louboutin.

Served daily in the new Collins room at The Berkeley, Prêt-à-Portea is spearheaded by Head Pastry Chef Mourad Khiat who transforms fashion into cakes, mousses and cookies. The menu is changed after each fashion week to reflect the new designs that are introduced. In honor of the 10th anniversary, the fall menu will feature favorite past recipes from the book and Chef Khiat will be hosting Masterclasses for guests at the hotel to teach them how to make a Jimmy Choo Praline Pump.
