Le Bristol Paris Fetes 90th Birthday With Big Events

Le Bristol

It’s been 90 years that the elegant palace hotel has stood sentinel at 112, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, and to celebrate this feat, Le Bristol is pulling out all the stops. Starting with a Champagne-infused brunch on the Summer Solstice (Sunday, June 21), the hotel will be hosting five glamorous events that channel the Roaring Twenties (when Le Bristol was born). Next up: a festive, pre-Bastille Day soiree on Thursday, July 9, when the gardens will be transformed into a traditional Guingette, the country-style dance halls that used to line the banks of the Seine. On the agenda: straw boater hats, communal tables, and a live jazz orchestra for lots of merry-making.

A Luxury Picnic in Paris by Bellota-Bellota

When the sun is shining in Paris, there’s nothing better than staking out a picnic spot in one of the city’s lovely gardens or along the Seine. A number of luxury hotels and épiceries sell picnic baskets for those too pressed for time to buy the ingredients themselves. One of the most fabulous we’ve seen is offered by Bellota-Bellota, the 20-year-old Paris brand known for its extraordinary Iberian ham.

Picnic

Called the “meilleur pique-nique du monde” (“the best picnic in the world”), the wicker basket is packed with a selection of the brand’s top-quality products. Think Iberian charcuterie, chorizo, smoked salmon tartare, foie gras, a creamy sheep’s milk cheese and a bottle of Verdejo Jose Pariente wine. Stored at proper temperature thanks to cooler packs, the picnic also comes with chic accessories, glasses, a bottle opener, and silverware. For six people. Available from May 30-September 30. Priced at 420€. For more information, visit www.bellota-bellota.com
