Austin continues to be a red-hot travel destination, and travelers headed to the area now have a new boutique hotel to check out: the just-opened Hotel Van Zandt, Kimpton's first property in the city.

The highlight of the 319 room, 41 suite property in Austin's Historic Rainey Street District has to be the fourth-floor outdoor terrace overlooking Lady Bird Lake -- book a cabana for some privacy, or visit the pool and bar to cool off.

For dining, the hotel's signature restaurant, Geraldine's, offers a menu of Texas classics, plus the chance to catch up-and-coming live acts from Austin's famous music scene. On the ground level, Café 605 will offer grab-and-go snacks like breakfast tacos.

To celebrate the opening, Hotel Van Zandt is offering a "Sneak Peek" rate. Through February, guests can book a night for 25 percent off the best available rate or 30 percent off the best available rate for stays two nights or longer, depending on availability.
