With Four Seasons Hotel Seattle set to open a new restaurant by Ethan Stowell, we took a look at the design by EDG Interior Architecture + Design.

According to Jeff Burkebile, a studio director with EDG, the design team aims to develop a bar-centric experience for when the restaurant opens in late spring 2015.

The design of the new space will take cues from the Seattle waterfront, the foundation of the city’s maritime history. Ship timbers will inspire the main architectural elements and the patterns created throughout the downtown restaurant. Furniture and fabrics will be inspired by the reflection of the Seattle skyline on the water. The color tones will include ambers, charcoals and blues.

The lobby will have blue and neutral tones, and contemporary oak wood screen wall elements will animate the entry and restaurant feature walls.

There will be a custom seating centerpiece, located at the new restaurant entry, integrating the hotel with the restaurant. A balance of contemporary furnishings and organic materials will invite guests to meet, dine and socialize.

The interior will offer views of Elliott Bay, the Seattle Great Wheel and the Olympic Mountains, and the whole scene will be anchored by a center bar with textural tile and stone surfaces.

There will also be a fireplace, hand-blown fixtures from Illuminata Glass and warm wood tones and pops of blue and amber color that will ground the restaurant interiors. Two private dining rooms near the kitchen will feature waterfront views, each providing a setting for 16 people.
