Toronto Welcomes Shangri-La

Toronto has gotten a taste of Shangri-La with the debut of the The Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto.

The hotel sits in the first 17 floors of a new 66-story tower. We hear the 202-room hotel is near the performance center for Canada's opera and ballet companies, the headquarters for the country's five major banks, consulates, sports venues and more.

In the Lobby Lounge, which features two-story windows, guests can choose from an all-day menu revolving around Southeast Asian flavors. The Bar is a 30-seat destination, which sits out front of Bosk, the hotel's signature restaurant.

Guest rooms range from 490 to 2,200 square feet. Bedrooms feature 47-inch flat screen LED televisions and iPads for in-room use. Nine guest rooms have private terraces.

There are 49 suites, five of which range from 630 square feet to the Owner's Suite at 1,100 square feet and the Shangri-La Suite at 2,200 square feet.

The hotel also features a health club, lap pool and Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie, Paris.
