A little more than a year after The Chedi Andermatt’s debut, the hotel’s management company, GHM, has named a permanent replacement to the pre-opening / launch general manager.
Jean-Yves Blatt has been appointed general manager of the property, succeeding the property’s first general manager, Alain Bachmann. Bachmann relocated in July to Indonesia, where he now leads another GHM property, The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah Ubud in Bali.
Since 2005, Blatt has worked at the Grand Park Hotel in Gstaad, for the past six years as general manager. Previously, he worked at the Lausanne Palace Spa and Hotel Le Mirador (now Le Mirador Kempinski) in Mont-Pèlerin.
Blatt is a 50-year-old native of Switzerland. and a graduate of the Lausanne Hotel School.
While GHM conducted its eight-month search for a permanent general manager, two interim general managers shepherded the hotel through the latter half of 2014.
