Como Hotel and Resorts has announced that the brand’s first Australian property, Como The Treasury is the centerpiece of Perth’s city-center development. The hotel is located on Cathedral Avenue in Perth’s Central Business District within a new artisanal precinct called Cathedral Square Development.
The luxury hotel was designed by Australian architect Kerry Hill and opened on October 15 after three years of construction.
The new hotel is decorated in handcrafted European furniture and the building has been returned back to its 19th-century origins, when it once played an important role in the city’s history. As for the guestrooms, large windows allow light to flood the accommodations (hello sunsets). And we like that the en-suite bathrooms have free-standing bathtubs (perfect for kids) and heated tile floors.
For dinner, guests will want to visit Wildflower on The Treasury’s rooftop -- it is a real treasure. Guests can enjoy a menu filled with produce from Western Australia and views of the Swan River. For Australian dishes with a French influence, head to the restaurant on the ground floor. And this Como will, of course, have a place to party and let loose, The Treasury Lounge and Bar, which we hear will be open at 11 a.m. until late. We suggest burning off dinner and drinks with some yoga and Pilates at Como Shambhala Urban Escape where there are also holistic therapies on offer.
