Andaz Papagayo Preps to Open in Costa Rica in December

Hyatt’s cool Andaz hotel brand is on a roll with a slew of new openings around the globe (like the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort). One we’re especially excited about is Andaz Papagayo, which will debut in Costa Rica this December. Located on the country’s north Pacific coast, the Papagayo Peninsula is celebrated for its pristine beaches and tropical forests populated by howler monkeys.

The Andaz Papagayo was designed by Costa Rican architect Ronald Zurcher to reflect the peninsula’s indigenous flora and fauna; the resort’s buildings are shaped like cocoons and shells.

There will be 153 rooms, including 21 suites, along with a spa, 24-hour gym, meeting rooms, two infinity pools with cascades, and three “concept restaurants” overlooking the sea. The resort will be family-friendly, with a dedicated Camp Hyatt providing storytelling and games for kids. Tip: Go for one of the four suites that come with private plunge pools.
