Crossbasket Castle Joins Connoisseurs Scotland

Connoisseurs Scotland has announced a new addition to its collection of luxury properties in Scotland. Crossbasket Castle, located just minutes from Glasgow’s city center, will begin welcoming guests on May 1, 2016. Beforehand, the castle will undergo significant renovations.Crossbasket Castle

The castle will have nine bedrooms, including a four-story bridal suite. There will be extensive public areas, a new banquet hall for up to 250 guests and a collection of art and original antique furniture. Guests can explore the manicured gardens, a wooded area and several nature walks. There will also be a river complete with waterfalls.

Crossbasket was once home to prominent Scottish families, but then it was abandoned and deteriorated. Using traditional materials, craftsmen spent nearly five years fixing the castle, restoring it to its original standing. The oldest part of the building is the original 15th-century tower that was built to rise above the river. Now, the tower was made into The Lindsay Tower Suite, which gives guests stunning views, a couple’s bathroom with shower and roll-top bath and a dressing room.Crossbasket

Special events will be held in The Roosevelt Grand Hall, which was built to compliment the rest of the castle. It includes a dance floor, large stage and bar. The hall gives guests views of the property’s waterfalls from the viewing balcony, which, we think, is a great backdrop for photos. Crossbasket can be booked as an exclusive-use venue and by individual guests.
