Cruising Myanmar with Orient-Express

river cruising in myanmarCalling all travelers with a love for the exotic! We hear Orient-Express Hotels is gearing up to launch a new river cruiser in Myanmar in July 2013.

Currently under construction in Yangon, we hear the 50-guest Orcaella will complement Orient-Express' two other businesses in Myanmar (think The Governor's Residence and the Road to Mandalay river cruiser).

Orcaella will operate between January and April and July and December offering seven- and 11-night cruise itineraries. The ship will sail the Ayeyarwady River between Yangon and Bhamo, as well as on the Chindwin River.

Onboard, guests will find 25 cabins that open onto the river via floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and Juliette balconies. The four-deck cruiser will also feature two Balcony Suites at the bow on the Main Deck, 15 State and eight Deluxe Cabins. A lounge and bar will be open all day for refreshments and alfresco dining. We hear there will also be a separate swimming pool, fitness center and treatment room.
