Crystal Cruises' Bill Smith Leaves Cruise Line for Virtuoso

Bill Smith, Crystal Cruises senior vice president of sales and marketing, is stepping down effective May 6. Smith, who joined Crystal in 2004 and been an advocate of travel advisors all the while, will move to Seattle to become Virtuoso's vice president of cruise sales and exclusive product as of May 9, 2011. Smith will take responsibility for preferred supplier relationships with more than 20 cruise lines as well as the network’s flagship cruise program, Voyager Club.

"Bill has been a passionate advocate of travel agents for decades," says Crystal's President Gregg Michel. "We thank him for his many creative contributions and his continuing endeavors to foster Crystal’s relationship with respected travel professionals worldwide."

Luxury Travel Advisor put a call into Crystal and was told that no determination has yet been made for a replacement.
