New Ship, New Ports for Seabourn in 2016 and 2017

seabourn encoreSeabourn has introduced its lineup of itineraries for the fall 2016 and winter 2017 season, including the introduction of the line's newest ship, the Seabourn Encore.

The new itineraries feature 38 destinations that are either maiden or "notable" ports that the cruise line has not visited in years, including more than a dozen ports in Japan, China and Korea, as well as a series of new Caribbean itineraries from Barbados. In addition, as part of the line's partnership with UNESCO, the schedule includes visits to many UNESCO World Heritage Sites around the world.

Seabourn will continue to offer the Extended Explorations program, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy longer cruises from 32 days to as many as 89 days. These linked voyages are designed to offer more in-depth exploration of a particular region. Additional benefits include an extra 10 percent savings for combined cruises, frequent overnights in ports, and local cuisine, wines, entertainment and regional experts for the Seabourn Conversations onboard enrichment program.

Following delivery in December 2016, Seabourn Encore will offer two pre-inaugural cruises - a 16-day cruise departing December 4, 2016, from Athens bound for Dubai, followed by an 18-day voyage departing December 20, 2016, from Dubai to Singapore. On January 7, 2017, Seabourn Encore will make its official debut with a gala naming inaugural ceremony in Singapore. After the naming of the ship, Seabourn Encore will embark on its 10-day official inaugural voyage to Bali. The ship will go on to spend its maiden season operating a series of 16-day voyages cruising the Pacific Rim in Australia and New Zealand, calling at the metropolitan cities of Sydney and Melbourne and exploring both islands of New Zealand.

Following a transatlantic sailing from Europe on December 19, 2016, Seabourn Odyssey will embark on two 18-day Panama Canal voyages between Ft. Lauderdale and Los Angeles. The ship will begin a new 12-day Caribbean program in February from Bridgetown, Barbados, to Ft. Lauderdale, exploring the western side of the Caribbean, including Cartagena, Colombia; three new ports in Panama; Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; the Colombian island of San Andres; and Key West, FL. Seabourn Odyssey will go on to sail six seven-day voyages between Bridgetown and Philipsburg, St. Maarten, to Seabourn's Uncommon Caribbean - allowing guests to experience the line's signature events, such as the Caviar in the Surf beach parties.

For a longer voyage with unique port content, guests may join the 39-day Exotic Caribbean Exploration voyage. This cruise sails from Ft. Lauderdale to Barbados on January 24, 2017.

Seabourn Sojourn will offer voyages in the Far East from mid-November 2016, starting with an 18-day voyage through the Holy Land and Arabia and a 17-day sailing through Arabia and India to Singapore. The ship's Asian season begins with a 16-day holiday voyage roundtrip from Singapore to Malaysia and Myanmar, where the ship will stay in Yangon (Rangoon) for three days and give time for guests to explore the city and the 2,000-plus temples at Bagan and the city of Mandalay. In 2017, Seabourn Sojourn will offer the line's 14-day Vietnam & Thailand voyage from Singapore to Hong Kong, which will alternate with a new 14-day voyage visiting the Philippines, China and Borneo. Guests may combine these two sailings for a new 28-day cruise. In March, Seabourn Sojourn will embark on 18-day voyages between Hong Kong and Kobe, Japan, encompassing new ports in China, Japan and Korea. These have variations, such as an overnight stay at Xingang for visiting Beijing on one cruise and a three-day visit at Shanghai on another. In addition, the voyage was planned to coincide with the cherry blossom season in Japan. Another voyage on the schedule is a 21-day cruise in May from Kobe to Seattle through Japan and across the North Pacific.

Guests may combine sailings for an extended 89-day Pacific Rim Exploration voyage departing Singapore on March 4, 2017, and arriving at Seattle on May 31, 2017.

Seabourn Quest will kick off the season with four 10-day Canadian Maritimes and New England voyages between Montreal and Boston, featuring an overnight in Québec City. Lauderdale, Seabourn Quest will then sail on a 24-day trip southward through the Caribbean to the Brazilian coast and Buenos Aires, Argentina. From there, the ship will begin its popular Antarctica and Patagonia season, offering four 21- to 24-day cruises between Valparaiso, Chile and Buenos Aires.
