Silversea Cruises

Owner’s Suites
Owner’s Suites have a homey, residential feel.

In the 2011 Luxury Travel Advisor Awards of Excellence, Silversea emerged as the winner in Luxury Small Ships category, and we say the Owner’s Suites on each of its vessels helped it garner top kudos from our readers.

The spacious accommodations found on the Silver Whisper and Silver Shadow are meant to have an actual apartment feel, which is not a bad way to roll, considering you’re sailing to some of the most exotic ports in the world.

These one-bedroom suites stand at 1,292 square feet solo, or can grow to two bedrooms when they are connected to a Vista Suite. The combination provides a total of 1,668-square-foot of space.

The Suites
The Suites can have one or two bedrooms, and come with many perks.

Other fun selling details include a large teak veranda with patio furniture and floor-to-ceiling glass doors; a living room with a sitting area, a separate dining area, a marbled bathroom with a double vanity, a separate shower and full-sized whirlpool tub, plus a powder room; a walk-in wardrobe with personal safe, a flat- screen TV with interactive video, on-demand movies and music, and satellite news programming; a Bang & Olufsen audio system and a radio/alarm with an iPod docking station.

Butler service is an obvious amenity, but so is the champagne on arrival (plus, it’s replenished as the cruise ensues). Nice Touch: Owner’s Suite guests get to select between Bvlgari or Ferragamo bath soaps as well as the beverages for their in-suite bar and refrigerator; there’s even a wide selection of pillows to choose from and a Lavazza or Nespresso coffee machine in the suite. It doesn’t end there: Privileged clients also receive personalized stationery, as well as laundry, dry cleaning and pressing service throughout their voyage, and afternoon canapés upon request; dinner at an officer’s table; dinner for two in Le Champagne, one evening per voyage; four hours of Internet service per suite, per voyage segment; two hours of worldwide phone use from the suite, per voyage segment; and a daily newspaper of choice.
