D.C. Buzz: Made in the USA Suite at Park Hyatt Washington

Park Hyatt Washington DC, Made in the USA suite

Looking for special digs on your next trip to the nation’s capital? The Park Hyatt Washington DC recently opened the “Made in the USA” suite—filled with American-made art and furniture—and it’s getting a lot of love in the press and on Social Media. The suite honors the hot new exhibit at The Phillips Collection in Dupont Circle called “Made in the USA,” which is billed as “the most comprehensive presentation of the museum’s American art collection in nearly 40 years.”

According to the Park Hyatt’s website, the suite will feature “five giclee reproductions of the museum’s American art masterworks… [including] Marsden Hartley’s Off the Banks at Night; Arthur G. Dove’s Red Sun; Peppino Mangravite’s Political Exiles; John Frederick Peto’s Old Time Rack Card; and Bradley Walker Tomlin’s No.9.” What’s more- the suite will have a Windsor-style timber rocking chair from Timothy Clark in Vermont, and a selection of items made by American artisans (like a leather satchel from Billykirk in PA, and WUD martini glasses from David Rasmussen in CO).

Available until August 31, 2014, starting from $399 per night, including two tickets to the exhibit, a subscription to The Phillips Collection Magazine, and breakfast for two at Blue Duck Tavern.
