Noma, World’s Best Restaurant, Unveils New Look

Noma, CopenhagenRoutinely named the world’s best restaurant, Noma in Copenhagen closed in July for a month to demolish its kitchen and rebuild “from scratch.” When it first opened in 2003, Noma earned quite a reputation, despite the fact that a small team of just three chefs and two apprentices worked on four gas burners. René Redzepi’s new kitchen now boasts sleek work areas and new cooking stations with lots of counter space.

Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou of the Space architectural firm were responsible for the renovation, vastly improving the space and adding HeartOak flooring from the Danish company Dinesen. Wallpaper says the new ambience is a “reflection of the foraged Nordic ingredients Noma is famous for.”

Noma is ranked number two on the 2013 The World's 50 Best Restaurants list sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, so it's famously hard to snag a table. Noteworthy: Noma will celebrate its 10 year anniversary in November 2013. For more information, visit noma.dk.
