Design Hotels Plans to Open 11 Howard in March

11 Howard

New York City will welcome a new hotel in March 2016. 11 Howard, by Design Hotels, is set to bring a Scandinavian design to SoHo’s neighborhood and Howard St. The rooms will include touches inspired by Nordic minimalism, meaning guests can expect high ceilings, a lot of natural light and design elements that will include velvet and wool.

We hear, this hotel will be sort of a meeting center in SoHo, as it plans to collaborate with local artists, form partnerships with business and non-profit organizations like Global Poverty Project and Conscious Commerce and will house a culinary concept by Stephen Starr, known for several restaurants, including Morimoto on 10th Ave. Stay Tuned: We also hear that this hotel will have a co-working space.

Aby Rosen, who helped create the look for the Gramercy Park Hotel, wanted 11 Howard to stand out among the surrounding buildings (cue the Scandinavian design). Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard of Danish design studio Space Copenhagen brought Rosen’s vision to life by collaborating with Anda Andrei.

Booking is now available.
