New Yorkers absolutely love their food from a truck. (I know this because I have waited on line for schnitzel, meatballs, lobster rolls, dessert….do I need to continue?) But one thing has always been missing from this food truck tryst: booze.
Say hello to the Turkish Taco Truck, which sits at the old site of Tavern on the Green in Central Park. The scoop, or should we say the pour, according to the New York Post is that this is the first food truck in the city with a liquor license.
According to the Post, there are some limitations that could present obstacles. The Turkish Taco Truck "is only allowed to sell alcohol that will be consumed within the seating area near Tavern on the Green. Curbside food trucks, on the other hand have no enclosed spaces."
