Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Developing a Resort in Croatia?

Brijuni Islands, CroatiaThe Internet rumor mill has been in overdrive ever since the Croatian newspaper Jutamji List reported that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie might develop a resort in the idyllic Brijuni Islands, located on Croatia’s Istrian peninsula. Word is that the Hollywood power couple are partnering with businessman Danko Koncar and actor Rade Serbedzija, who appeared in Jolie’s directorial debut, "In the Land of Blood and Honey,” on the project. Overlooking the Adriatic Sea, the luxury resort will have private villas, a golf course, and a marina, in addition to the hotel accommodations.

Croatia is an emerging hot spot on the American traveler’s radar, and you’d be hardpressed to pick a finer setting than the largely uninhabited Brijuni Islands, dotted with Ancient Roman ruins next to the turquoise sea. Istria itself is less traveled than the Dalmatian coast, and the peninsula has recently been named “the new Tuscany.”
