Calling all 007 fans. William Boyd’s new James Bond book “Solo” will hit the shelves next month, and The Dorchester in London will be hosting a special “Breakfast with Bond” to celebrate on Saturday, September 28. In fact, the luxury hotel is the setting for the opening scene of the book, set in 1969, when Bond has a lavish birthday breakfast.
The Grill will recreate Bond’s meal, while author William Boyd will read scenes from the chapter. Needless to say, the resto will be decorated in 1960s style just for the occasion. There will also be vintage cars parked out front, 60s tunes as the soundtrack, and copies of an actual newspaper and menu from 1969. We say you better dress in your swinging 60s best.
