Broadway Buzz: Beatles Musical to Close in September

Sad news from the Great White Way: The AP is reporting that the concert/musical Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles on Broadway will play its final performance on September 4 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

The show is an extended Beatles concert with near-perfect reproductions of "Hard Day's Night," ''Yesterday," ''Eleanor Rigby" and "Strawberry Fields," among many others.

Originally intended as a 13-week stand, the show opened at the Neil Simon Theatre in October, recouped its $2 million investment in seven weeks, extended and moved into the smaller Brooks Atkinson in February.
