Burgundy's La Cueillette Launches Cutting-Edge Spa Therapy

Luxury Travel Advisor has been traveling through Burgundy this week, getting the inside scoop on one of France's most beloved destinations. Our latest find? A fabulous chateau-hotel so new you can still smell the fresh paint. Located in the town of Meursault overlooking the first vineyard given to the Cistercian monks in the 11th century, La Cueillette is slated to garner five stars by the government's official hotel rating system.

What's unique about the property is the Fruititherapy Spa, the first of its kind in the world. A local physician has developed a new beauty line harnessing the natural antioxidant power of locally-harvested fruit like red currant and wild berries (much like the renowned Caudalie spa in Bordeaux wine country uses grapes).

These products are put to the test in the spa: a contemporary haven designed with white walls and bamboo floors, comprising six treatment rooms, a hammam, sauna, relaxation lounge, and an indoor pool overlooking the village through a wall of glass. Stay tuned for more details in an upcoming issue of the magazine. The website, www.lacueillette.com, is still under construction.
