The story broke yesterday in London, and it’s quickly going viral: chef Gordon Ramsay is reportedly leaving Claridge’s in London after 12 years at the helm in the famous dining room. The London Evening Standard pinpoints the contract negotiation as the cause; the outspoken chef and Claridge’s owners failed to agree on a new one. Ramsay will be saying adieu on June 30, 2013.
A statement from Gordon Ramsay Holdings said that the group is now looking at other possible restaurant sites in Mayfair. Next up is the opening of Union Street Cafe in Borough in September. Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s lost its Michelin star in 2010, and Claridge’s is now “looking for a new dining direction.”
