Cocktail Bars in Palm Beach- The Breakers Debuts HMF

Cocktails at HMF, The Breakers, Palm BeachCalling all cocktail enthusiasts. The Grand Dame of Palm Beach has a glam new bar for night owls, named HMF after the resort’s founder: oil tycoon and railroad baron Henry Morrison Flagler. Designed by Adam D. Tihany (responsible for the décor at Per Se, Le Cirque and Restaurant Daniel), HMF aims to revive “the glitter of classic Palm Beach high life.” The tagline on the bar’s Facebook page? “Classic Cocktail Culture is Back.”

The Breakers has recruited top mixologists- what the resort calls “cocktail chefs”—to concoct both experimental libations and classic drinks. There’s also a 40-page wine menu showcasing the 28,000-bottle cellar stocked by sommelier Virginia Philip. The menu features plates that are meant to be shared; some, like Greek spiced lamb sliders, are inspired by the gourmet food truck trend.

The Breakers emerged from a big makeover in 2011. For more information about the resort—what Southern Living calls “an Italian Renaissance high-society playground for well over a century,” visit www.thebreakers.com.
