After debuting a luxury hotel in his native Madeira over the summer, Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has opened his second hotel—this time in Lisbon. As we reported in August, Ronaldo has teamed up with the Pestana Hotel Group to launch a line of trendy boutique hotels which incorporate the name of Ronaldo’s CR7 brand. New York and Madrid locations are also in the pipeline.
Portugal has emerged as one of the hottest European travel destinations in recent years, and Lisbon is in the headlines for its impressive urban revitalization projects. Housed in a restored historic building in the Pombaline downtown district, the Pestana CR7 hotel has 82 contemporary rooms with free wifi and breakfast included.
The official website describes the “total digital comfort” and “sophisticated ambience” which are part of the “true CR7 lifestyle.” Top digs include the “Superior Rooftop Rooms” overlooking the Tagus River from the sixth floor, and the CR7 suite which comes with a PlayStation 4 and Virtual reality glasses/ games plus cardio Work-Out equipment.
