If you were excited for Heston Blumenthal to bring his Dinner by Heston across to our side of the pond, then you are in for some sad news. New York Magazine's Grub Street is reporting that the British chef has put the kibosh on a North American expansion.
The plan was to open a New York outpost of his smash London success at the Mandarin Oriental, but according to Grub Street, incompatibility of his cooks' hours and union rules has stifled the plan.
Blumenthal is not, however, against an expansion to Australia, though that would involve a little more legwork for hungry Manhattanites.
