Dispatch from Paris: DIY Cocktails at W Hotel Opera

W Paris Opera

W Paris OperaSince its debut on February 29, the W Hotel Opéra continues to cause a buzz in Paris. (Check out our first-hand review here.) The latest excitement? Do-it-Yourself Cocktail Soirées at the hip Living Room bar. The next one will kick off tonight at 7 pm. Experienced bartender Aurélie Panhelleux will be on hand to teach you the art of blending ingredients to make the perfect tipple. Simply choose your base alcohol (vodka, gin, Scotch whisky, rum or champagne) and then pick a cocktail from the menu, like the Vanilla Mule-- made with half a lime, house-made Vanilla syrup, Belvédère, Ginger Beer-- or the WPO, mixed with Scotch, apricot liqueur, lemon juice and Limonade. For the full bar menu, check out the hotel's blog. Cocktails are 15 euros a piece, and the Pica Pica finger food costs 3 euros each, or 15 euros for the platter.

The W Paris Opéra is located at 4 rue Meyerbeer in the 9th arrondissement. For more information, visit www.wparisopera.com.
