Dorchester Hotel Celebrates Fashion Week

London's Fashion Week will kick off next month, and the Dorchester is offering a special tea event (and special cocktails!) for fans of haute couture.

To toast this fashionable celebration, the "Teatum Jones Fashion Tea" will be held on The Promenade at The Dorchester on September 18. The two-seating service will showcase British fashion design house Teatum Jones' Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, which celebrates Grimm's fairy tales and Hollywood crime scene photography. (A unique combination if we've ever heard of one!)

Bar Manager Giuliano Morandin, working with the designers Catherine Teatum & Rob Jones, also created the new "Odyssey" Champagne cocktail which is inspired by their forthcoming SS13 collection to be presented at The Dorchester on September 17. The "Odyssey" includes Sipsmith Gin, Van Wees rose liqueur, nettle cordial, raspberries and lemongrass and will be served during the traditional afternoon tea, complete with finger sandwiches, homemade scones and pastries from The Dorchester's pastry team. Sittings are available for 2:15pm and 4:45pm. And there's also the Cavalry Charge cocktail available at The Bar until the end of September. Created by Morandin in collaboration with fashionista Hilary Alexander, the Cavalry Charge is reportedly inspired by the colors of the Union Jack and the Household Division recreated through a combination of gin, wild strawberry liqueur, ginger beer, fresh lime, and blue curacao.

Bonus: Teatum Jones is launching "The Dorchester" printed scarf, fashioned of pure silk crêpe de Chine during London Fashion Week. It will be available for purchase exclusively at luxury fashion emporium Liberty on Regent Street and online at shop.thedorchester.com from Tuesday, September 18.

The hotel is located on Park Lane in London's Mayfair neighborhood. Visit www.thedorchester.com for more information.
