Eye on Amsterdam: Waldorf Astoria Hotel to Open in 2013

Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam

News from the Netherlands: Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is making an addition to its portfolio of luxury hotels in Europe. Joining the ranks of some prestigious properties (Rome Cavalieri, Trianon Palace Versailles, and London Syon Park), the new Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is destined to make a splash in the canal-laced city when it opens in 2013. Word on the street is that the hotel will be comprised of six historic row houses dating from the 17th century, located on one of Amsterdam’s most famous canals in the heart of the old city-- recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Both business and leisure travelers will be thrilled about the facilities: 94 elegant guest rooms, a “destination restaurant” and bar, a 500 square meter health club and spa, and 400 square meters of conference space including a courtyard garden. .
