Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows has recently opened a majority of its luxe bungalows, which were designed by Michael Berman. All 32 bungalows are set to be completed by the beginning of August, and each bungalow has a mid-century, modern design with a Southern California oceanfront vibe and is ideal for families and couples alike.
The completed signature suite, Bungalow One, underwent a one million dollar revamp under Berman’s eye, and, we say, it was well worth it. The resulting three-bedroom suite with three-and-three-quarter-bath is the ultimate retreat, and the 1,000 feet of outdoor space is perfect for a romantic dinner, cocktail hour or family gathering. Guests staying in Bungalow One will have added perks like private access to the Miramar gardens and pool, and it is the only freestanding bungalow. However, since the Miramar gardens and Koi pond surround all the bungalows, each feels like a private escape. Beach lovers will be glad that the suites are just steps from Santa Monica beach, and some of the bi-level suites have views of the ocean.

Each bungalow has a unique look, but all of them share common themes like an ocean-inspired design with touches like tile floors that resemble driftwood and blue and green color palettes. We think the best perks are the soaking tubs, wet rooms and outdoor patios. Families will be happy to hear that there are six connecting bungalows, making it easy to plan a multigenerational getaway.
While on the property, guests should take advantage of the Miramar Beach Club (a kid’s paradise) with complimentary games, boogie boards, and toys for the beach. As an added touch: Guests can be escorted to the beach in the hotel’s topless Jeep. After a day at the beach, the Starry Night Poolside Cinema is a perfect way to spend the night. Every Friday, family-friendly movies play poolside, and guests can enjoy complimentary popcorn. Want more poolside activities? Adults will get into the poolside yoga series, which is held on the second Saturday of every month at 9:30 a.m.
