The First Chedi Hotel in Europe to Open in Winter 2013

The Chedi Andermatt

In some of the biggest hotel news of the year, GHM will be opening its first Chedi hotel in Europe just in time for the winter ski season 2013. Surrounded by the glorious scenery of the Swiss Alps just an hour’s drive from both Lucerne and Zurich, The Chedi Andermatt is guaranteed to up the luxury quotient in a region already adored by the international jetset.

The design renderings depict a contemporary, chic style for the five-star hotel- with alpine touches like chalet-style open-floor plans, fireplaces, and exposed timber. Technology also plays a big role with the in-room experience; guests will be able to control all features of the room (from the fireplace to the TV and shutters) with the touch of an iPad.

After a day on the slopes, skiers will be able to unwind at the spa, loll in the pool, glide around the ice skating rink, and relax with an aperitif at the wine salon or cigar lounge. There will also be an 18-hole golf course. For those looking to own a stake in the development, The Chedi Residences feature luxury apartments and condos. For more information, visit
