This is a meal we're willing to cross oceans to try: The temporary winter menu at Paris' Hotel Plaza Athénée will serve a multi-course meal themed around seasonal winter ingredients. Approriately, the gastronomic event is called the “Bancs d’Hiver.”
And if that weren't enough, we hear the whole experience is to be served in the hotel’s courtyard, which is frozen over every year to serve as a miniature skating rink for guests.
Luxury website Luxuo reports that the menu will include dishes like cream of chestnut soup, roasted pears, with cream and Savoie biscuits, and raclette, a traditional, hearty French dish that involves melting cheese over boiled potatoes, ham and pickles.
The “Bancs d’Hiver” menu will run from February 28 ending March 10 and will be prepared by the same team that works with chef Alain Ducasse.
The Hotel Plaza Athénée is located at 25 avenue Montaigne in Paris. For bookings, email [email protected].
